About Black Forest Automotive: Black Forest was established in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego, California in 1975. We offer a complete range of diagnostic, maintenance, overhaul and repair services including performance up-grades. Owner John Rickard and his Black Forest staff have been working very hard to maintain a modern, state of the art facility specializing only in Porsche and BMW automobiles. John Rickard has been a Master Technician for over 30 years and has extensive racing experience in PCA, POC, SCCA and SCORE. John is currently racing a 944 Spec car. He is also a PCA Scrutineer for PCA national racing events. Service Manager Jeff Beckman has been with Black Forest for over 12 years and has been active in SCCA Pro Solo and Solo II competition. Jeff has been a SCCA member since 1987 and a PCA member since 2005. He was a SCCA Solo II Safety Steward for 3 years. Shop Manager Mark Kinninger is a Master Technician with over 28 years experience and over 20 years at Black Forest. He is a specialist in stock and performance engine building. Mark has been an active PCA member since 1989. He specializes in the conversion of early 911s to 3.6L engines. Mark and his son, Eric, have claimed TTOD at local PCA autocrosses over the past 2 years in these "purpose-built" 911s. Porsche Technician Anthony Dilanzo has been a Porsche technician since 1989. He has been a PCA member since 1998 and a POC member since 1999. Anthony recently claimed TTOD at the February 2007 POC Willow Springs event. BMW Technician Terry Hardesty has been a BMW and Porsche technician since 1979 and at Black Forest since 1996. Terry's current project is installing a '98 BMW M3 3.2L engine into his 1988 BMW 325I. Suspension and fabricator Charlie Wallace rounds out the complement of Black Forest technical experts. Charlie has been a PCA member since 1982.
