Originally built by a ship captain, the workmanship exhibited in the rough hewn post and beam construction drew Dan's eye. Early on, Dan learned that a home is really composed of subsets of different systems all interacting together. Today's building techniques, coupled with refinements in wiring, HVAC, and plumbing, have contributed to highly efficient homes. While 90 % of our structures are still 'stick built', we are constantly investigating alternatives such as ICF, especially in this southern climate....
