About Dr. Dominic Gioffre: Dr. Dom Gioffre was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He began his education at Christ Our King School, followed by four years at Salesianum High School. His undergraduate studies were done at Fordham University in New York. He received his dental training at the University of Maryland Dental School. After graduation he served two years as a Captain in the Air Force in Rome, New York at the Griffiss Air Force Base Dental Clinic. Dr Gioffre is married and has four children as well as eight grandchildren. In August of l971, he opened his dental practice on Possum Park Road, near Newark, Delaware. From l971 to l990 Dr. Gioffre also treated patients at the A. I. DuPont Children’s Hospital. He is still on the Medical Staff at the hospital. In 1984 he moved his practice to the current Limestone Road location. Dr. Gioffre is a member of the American Dental Association, the Delaware State Dental Society, the American Endodontic Association, The Academy of General Dentists and Pierre Fauchart Society. He has been on the Executive Council of the Delaware State Dental Society and served as President of the State Dental Society in l998-1999. During his tenure as President he focused on the issue of access to dental care for the poor. He has also been on several Operation Smile missions to Vietnam; Operation Smile is a worldwide organization that treats children with cleft lips, cleft palates, and other facial deformities as well as providing other dental needs.
