About Geowen Construction Services Inc: I have been in my own business since 1980 in various capacities and types of business, all related to residential housing. I have done historic restoration and preservation, custom home building, custom carpentry, cabinetry, furniture building. We have been in the Door and Window business exclusively from 1998 to 2005 with 80% of our business as a subcontractor for The Home Depot and Lowes, and the rest to individual homeowners and property managers. We had 7 installers/employees installing for 9 stores every day. The Home Depot changed how they did Installation Services and all area contractors lost thier business with them, to a Texas firm. My current business is really just getting back to the core desire to uphold high quality custom carpentry for individual clients. I do a lot of business from word of mouth. The current economic climate is helping people to decide to stay and fix up their current home. Every customer is dealt with based on their particular needs, I can do just about ANYTHING your house needs, or get a good guy to do it. Some of the things I don’t do are roofing, whole house siding, attic insulation, large concrete work. My focus is on skilled carpentry. I am a Master Carpenter. This life time skill set, established early from a couple of old school carpenters, seems to be a rare commodity these days. Or so my clients tell me. So many carpenters today have a narrow skill set based on what they did during the last housing boom. I wouldn’t want a floor framer installing my kitchen cabinets no matter how cheap the price.
