About Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity Deconstruction: The Deconstruction team of Habitat staff and volunteers work with builders, developers and homeowners to salvage reusable building materials from structures prior to demolition or remodeling. Building materials and supplies like flooring, windows and doors, cabinetry and appliances that are removed from a building are then sold to the general public in the Habitat ReStore at 30 Meadow Road.
Benefits of the new program to our community include: The diversion of usable building materials from our landfill, Providing a source of affordable building materials for reuse in our community, Creation of new living-wage jobs in Buncombe County, Support for Habitat for Humanity???s mission to eliminate substandard housing, Salvaged material is a tax deductible donation to Habitat for Humanity.
