About Green Leaf Design Llc: When I was 18 years old, I knew that I wanted to study one of the various facets of design. Off I went to Oregon State, aspiring be to be an Interior Designer. After 4 years of studying, I received my B.S. in Interior Design and a Minor in Art History. My first job out of college was designing cubicles and coordinating office moves. While the experience that I gained in Project Management was invaluable this was not what I had in mind when I chose this field. After 4 years of cubicles, I decided that Landscape Design would be a better fit. While going through the Landscape Technology Program at Portland Community College, I worked at The Garden Corner learning about the never ending list of plants available to us in the Pacific NW. This experience helped me to learn the right plant for the right place, which is certainly one of my design philosophies. I received an Associates in Landscape Technology and a Certificate in Landscape Design. Needless to say, my background in Interior Design and Art History combined with my experience with plant material and designing of outdoor spaces has come full circle in working with clients to achieve the results that they are looking for. Often times people will ask me what my specialty is... My specialty is to listen to what each individual client is looking for and to use my knowledge of different design styles to create the beautiful, functional and creative space that will best suit their needs.
