About Charles Leach Md: APPOINTMENTS *Urgent Appointments: if you develop an urgent medical problem, please call our office for an appointment as soon as possible. Our office has several urgent appointments available each day, but these get filled very quickly, so we encourage you to contact our office at your earliest convenience. We are a group practice therefore, if your regular physician is not available, you may be seen by his Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. If our schedule is full we may ask that you seek medical care at an urgent care center or emergency room depending on your symptoms. *We do not have the capacity to be a walk in clinic. If you need an appointment please call and speak to one of our phone Office Representatives. Please do not come to the clinic without an appointment expecting to be seen. Calls to our Office 8If you have questions you may call our office any time during normal business hours. A receptionist will take a message with your questions and concerns and a Medical Assistant or an appropriate staff member will return your call as soon as possible. We always do our very best to return calls as quickly as possible. Medication Refill Remember, in most cases if you are out of refills then it is time for an appointment. We attempt to schedule rechecks at reasonable intervals, and ask that you be seen prior to taking the last of your medication to maintain your health and prevent wasted prescriptions. When calling in to request a medication refill, allow 24-48 hours for the refill to be processed and sent to your pharmacy. If your physician has not written the prescription you are requesting before, you will have to come in for an appointment to discuss the medication with them. Most patients who take a controlled substance will need to come in monthly for a medication refill appointment unless the physician decides differently. It is best to make a follow up appointment when leaving the office to assure an appointment is available when a refill is needed. Lab &Diagnostic Test Results *Urgent results – you will be contacted by phone immediately. *Normal results – a medical assistant will call you within 7 business days of testing.
