About S & D Landscapes LLC: We are a small family owned and operated landscaping firm located in Essex, Vermont. We started small as a part time operation to provide an earning opportunity for college educations--we have since morphed into a full time career. Our general manager has graduate level education in horticulture and we are gradually expanding to add additional employees (1-2). Because we are focused on what we have a true passion for--landscape installation (softscaping), landscape maintenance, and chemical applications we use licensed and insured subcontractors to provide masonry, carpentry, irrigation, and excavation services for our projects. We are a true one call landscape project management company from initial design to deployment. Currently there are no landscaping licensing requirements for Vermont. We are members of PLANET (www.landscarenetwork.org) and VNLA (www.greenworksvt.org) and we carry full liability insurance so you can rest at ease. We do not charge for estimates but there are some design fees that vary based on the scope of the project.
